Weekend Retreat at The Om Dome
With Joy Dorsey

MAY 25 & 26

This is a weekend to nurture yourself with the healing power of movement, delicious food, nature, and community.

As soon as you arrive to this magical property you will be guided through the wooded trail to the yurt to settle yourself in for the day. We will start each day off with a mindful movement class to ground and invigorate! Saturday morning Joy will lead you through one of her classic yoga and movement classes, focused on building inner and outer strength and balance. Sunday morning you will get to move and play with Mark, learning more about movement from the perspective of experimentation and exploration!

Following class you will be served a wholesome and delicious lunch and have time to walk the trails of this beautiful 100 acre forested property.

After lunch we will gather for discussion on the topics of intuitive eating practices, how to approach nutrition and wellness practices from a place of self care, while understanding the impacts stress has on our ability to make choices in our best interest. These discussions will help you to realize that our challenges with our behaviors come in various forms and that healing comes from a place of self-compassion and understanding.

To embody the words, feelings, and thoughts from our discussion we will move together following these sessions. Saturday afternoon Trish will lead you through a gentle movement practice using story, and words to help you with self inquiry. On Sunday afternoon Joy will lead you through playful movement practices you can take anywhere, to help you feel more present and alive!

We will close each day with meditation and rest, so you have the opportunity to integrate the movements, the discussion, and to embody what you take away from each day.

Joy Dorsey

Joy Dorsey has been practicing yoga for over 14 years and teaching since 2010. In February 2017 Joy opened Be Moved Yoga & Wellness Centre. Her love for teaching others how to live and move better was the driving force behind the decision to open Be Moved.

Joy has lived her own journey of recovery with more than 14 years of sobriety and overcoming many challenges around food, body image, and self-esteem. Joy brings this experience into her group classes, one on one sessions and speaking engagements. Her story is always shared with heartfelt honesty and a desire to help others.

In addition to teaching yoga and movement, Joy is a Recovery Coach. She applies her learning as Mind-Body Nutrition Coach, Reiki practitioner and trauma informed training uniquely with each client. Her goal is to help her clients feel resourced, strong and resilient and most of all informed. Although knowledge is key, it is the practice of embodying this knowledge which leads to lasting change.

Trish Dingman

Mysticism, movement, deep breaths, curiosity, belly laughs, nature and her passion for compassion; have shaped Trish into the yoga and self inquiry facilitator she is today.

Trish’s love of personal inquiry began while training and working professionally as an actor in film and stage, since age 12. Trish was introduced to yoga in 1999, while attending the renowned theater-acting conservatory, at Ryerson University.  She fell in LOVE with yoga in 2006, when she used it as the stepping stone, for healing herself from addiction and depression.

Drawing from over 12 000 hours of teaching; 2000 hours of study and her creative background as a classically trained actor; Trish is shaping something new and different for participants of her programs.

Trish is the creator of Yoga and Compassionate Self Inquiry, for Actors- a program she has facilitated as part the Brock University Theatre Curriculum; since 2013.

Trish lives in a magical forest, in a yurt - off the grid- with her partner Dave. Together they are learning to build and live a 100% self sustainable life.

She is the co-creator of  HEAL EVOLVE THRIVE- educational trainings and retreats for yoga teachers and mental health professionals.

Trish’s mission is pure love for self and all beings; through creativity, nature, self expression and understanding.

Mark Kronwald

For as long as I can remember I have been a student of human movement and I am very passionate about sharing the knowledge I have gained through my years of continuous research. I have been a movement instructor for the last ten years and I greatly enjoy helping others experience the sense of freedom that comes with a human body that is capable of moving to its fullest capacity.

In addition to being a movement instructor, I am also a full-time elementary school teacher with the Grand Erie District School Board. My athletic background includes martial arts, trail running and rock climbing. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my wife and four amazing children, reading, stand up paddle boarding, hiking, practicing parkour and most recently learning to skateboard.
